I use a Winter Wash based on Horticultural soft soap. Cannot remember the name . It seems to be on sale almost everywhere.

Berghill - is it the Vitax one?  It's recommended for organic growers image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Most chemicals which used to be used are now banned.  Google 'winter tree wash uk' and you'll see what is available.  Most are based on natural oils or horticultural soap.  They work well.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • thank you so much for your help. I  think I will steer clear of the chemicals.

    Tanks again

That's the one I use. I went and looked at the bottle but never got round to re-posting.
