A sad day

Last days on the allotment, been a sad morning been at the allotment giving away stuff.

Its looking rather bare now, sheds gone, cold-frames gone, etc etc just a few spring cabbage plants left in the garden.

But looking on the bright side a lot of it has gone to a new couple just starting out and I will still be able to call in and give all the others  my expert advice image image

Gardeners Boy hugs to you and OH it must be very hard to let go image  from another thread I can understand why it has to be. I'm sure the new couple will appreciate your advice and will reward you with some veggies image Keep smiling image

  • KEF, always difficult to give up any garden but made the decision to do it now before I started to fill it again would of been worse to leave it in full productivity.

And the garden here is much bigger than our last one so plenty's of room but have decided no veg patch but I'm going to grow veg in the boarders amongst the flowers.

And it means my wife can be out here with me, now is that such a good ideaimage!!

Sorry to hear you are giving up your allotment but on the plus side you can spend more time at home in your garden and as you probably know there's lots of stuff which can be grown in amoungst the flowers.

  • Thanks for all the support all of you. But I know it will be fine even with the extra advice I will be getting, image  (nothing my dear just telling everyone on how helpful your great advice is) image

Got lots of plans, lots of seeds on the go.

I can't imagine having to give up either of my allotments, so I can only guess that it's a very difficult choice for you to have made. I'm sorry for you

  • Was not an easy decision Fruitcake and took about a year before I made my mind up but it will be for the best as for the last six months or so not really been able to spend the time that it requires.

That's understandable, sometimes it feels like it should be a full time job! Good luck with whatever you'll be doing in the future image

  • Plenty's to do, we moved here a year ago to a flat suitable for my wife, I ask if I could take on the communal gardens as they were in a right old state the owners agreed that was late last summer so just had a good tidy up.

Not a bad deal they mow all the lawns and cut the large hedges I'm left to do what I want with the rest.

Hopefully will get a few other residents interested and I hope benefit all as most are have some disability or other.

I will take and post a few pictures when I get the time image
