Bay tree problem

I have a fairly tall bay tree (roughly 140cm), with about 4 stems, it doesn't have many leaves but they are yellowish and some are spotted black. I have just re-potted it into a large glazed pot, how can I get it to look more healthy? i.e. darker, greener leaves ect. Should I cut some stems off?

I tried to attach some images but it doesn't work, sorry.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks, Bizzybee63 image

Bizzybee all trees will benefit from a good feed just now. My bays has to be brought into porch as it so cold here but they still get leaf drop and go a bit yellowish. They always respond to a good mulch of compost

If growing in pots I would use a soil based compost instead of a MP compost. JI 2 or 3 would be more suitable.  I would be inclined to repot in a suitable compost, cut it back a bit to promote new healthy growth and make sure it doesn't dry out over summer... Periodic liquid feeds will also be beneficial. Good luck image

  • Thanks Lily, Mollis! image
