    It is a Fatsia japonica aka False Castor oil plant as the leaves look similarish to the real Castor oil plant, Ricinus.

    I see nothing wrong with your plant...it is perfectly hardy and can grow outside btw.

    agree with Blairs, as per usual, The only thing I'd add, is the pot is a bit on the small side.

    Looks like a healthy plant, mine's outside all year and at this time is looking alittle light in colour due to lack of water and being a tad bit pot boundimage

    They are hardy, mines just had snow wiped off it's leaves. Wouldn't recommend putting yours outside though as it will be acustomed to the heat indoors. 

    Has yours flowered, be mindful, although nice on the plant the flowers are posionous. A bigger pot will help it's roots develop and you might get extra shoots coming from the base making for a bushier plant.
