penstemon seeds

I have sown some penstemon seeds (Victorian cottage I thinkimage) I have them in an unheated propagator in the spare room, they are taking an age to germinate. Is this usual?

I sowed some the other day scarlett queen, it said on the the packet 30-50 days to germinate image

  • Thanks Perkiimage  I'll leave them alone to get going. I've never tried any that take that long. Have you got yours in a propagator the same?

not in a heated propagator, just a tray with a plastic lid on the windowsill.

  • Oh good that's the same. I'll race you to the finishimageimage

I would take a picture but there are that small you struggle to see them. I sowed mine on the surface, I dont know if you meant to do cause the seed packet didn't say anything really, but they have  germinated so I cant complain

  • Yes they were very small so I sprayed after sowing perhaps they are still fighting to get to the light.

  • Hi mine have just germinated in a cold greenhouse (either that or it is a weeds!) sowed them about 3 weeks ago.
