in need of a garden shed

image

Just got a new allotment 3weeks ago been hard at it clearing etc. I'm reusing as much as I can unfortunately the shed was dangerously falling apart so that had to go. I'm just starting a family so money is tight.

What I was wondering was does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced or free shed from? I live in Castleford West Yorkshire.

You'll need to hunt around a bit, but people do occasionally offer sheds for free if you dismantle and collect. You'll have to scour the local papers and ask around - or maybe put an add in the local newsagent/paper yourself requesting one.

We did this a few years ago when we upgraded a shed. The young lad who came to collect the old one was over the moon with his free shed. I was just glad it was gone ready for the new one. image

You could also ask around the other allotmenteers, one of them might be thinking of getting a new one. The other solution might be to buy a plastic garden storage box, which is probably long enough for spade/ fork etc and mine has a lock point on it.

Good luck with your new allotment!

You could try Gumtree and ebay as well as Freecycle.
