Newbie

Hello peeps, new to here and gardening, i have a small new border and raised decking.

For the first time last year a started to plant the border and climbers to grow over the decking.

I have a couple of holly hocks and they started to get marks on the leaves and the leaves died back. I was told by the garden centre it was rust and they sold me a spray but it didnt seem to work.

This spread to all neighboring plants and ruined them all.

I dont want this to happen this year so looking for advice to help stop this.

thanks

Paul

The spray wont cure the already infected leaves, but like roses, you need to spray before the problem occurs.

What were the neighbouring plants that were affected?

There are loads of plants that are not susceptible to rust, you were unlucky in your choice if everything succumbed.

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • the plants that were near , the worst one to be affected was a passion flower climber. others affected were a clematus.  The jasmin was ok .. all climbers by the way.

  • hi i already have climbers over my decked area, a passion flower, jasmin, clematus and one i dont know the name of, also a couple of roses.
