Thanks busy-lizzie - I have a few stables by me so will go and ask - I'm chomping at the bit (pun intended) to get garden sorted for summer.
If you can get well rotted horse poop gardeniglily1 then there is no contest. Dig out the crumbly black stuff from the back of the heap where nobody else dares venture, then it can go straight in or on the soil.
