Here is an update for you. The poppies are doing well, 24 have survived and are now in 9cm pots and hardened off. See pics. Some are trying to flower so I will let 2 do so and am taking off the flowers on the other ones to make them stronger before planting out. So far so good........I'll keep you all updated.
Wow, they're looking good Winniecat! Only a few of mine survived the coldframe (maybe I put them out too soon) - I have planted them outside now. They're much smaller than yours.
Thanks for keeping us posted - would love to see another update at some point.
So, here's the latest, my first flower and it's red, not blue! See pic.
It's definitely not cambrica because the leaves are completely different (I have some orange ones growing wild). I hope some of my flowers will be blue. Anyone have any ideas what this may be?

Are they meconopsis cambrica?
That flower head doesn't look right for betonicifolia
Oh ...... doesn't it? They are meant to be betonicifolia, you've got me worried now. guess I'll have to wait and see!
The last blue ones I had turned out purple. They cross pollinate easily.
The ones I have now are Lingholm hybrids. I'm hoping for blue flowers this year.
Have a look here for cultivation notes. I can usually germinate fresh seed, but I lose a lot due to damping off.
