If I suspect there may be vine weevil grubs in the compost I spread it out on a tarpaulin first and leave it a couple of days for the birds to rootle through - they get rid of them.

goes into the compost bins in my garden. Check for vine weevil though if you've had any problems with the little blighters.
I use it as a top-dressing on my borders and veg plots. Over the years this has slowly improved my clay soil.

we sprinkle it out on our fields and let the buzzards, garden birds eat away at any grubs
