You might need to give it a drench with an insecticidal solution. Just warm water wont do it. Don't leave the lemon standing in water at this time of year, it will just cause rot.

  • But I don't know what to do because I Was planing on putting it back in the pot in a couple of days and it will be ashame to waste such a beutiful plant full of blossom and what are these monsters! image

Insecticidal solution wont harm the plant, just kill bugs.

  • Yes edd the small ones I've just checked it now and it looks like they've gone touch wood anyway I'm gonna leave it in isolation now

  • And yes Fidgetbones but I want to try it naturally first if that's an option

  • Thanks Edd you truly are a great gardener and I'm glad to say that I can't see anymore of them

There are such things as root aphids. these are the same as the ones found on leaves etc, but they live in the soil and feed off the roots. Usually when you remove a plant from its pot the soil appears to be covered in fine white filaments. These aphids cover themselves in a wax like material which makes them waterproof (useful if you live in the soil). Sadly the only way to remove them is with a systemic insecticide.

  • I have what looks like the large insects show in the picture in my soil , compost bin , greenhouse and my worm bins  they cant be seen as they hide in the medium or under plant pots buckets etc there are thousands of them in each place where I find them .when I uncover them by moving some item they are almost like a carpet . They are only 1mm long white and don't jump when disturbed just go down  away from the light as fast as they can they only appeared last year  possibly came in grow bags ? They could teach rabbits a thing or two about multiplying . HELP

You don't need help - they won't do any harm - encourage birds and amphibians and they'll eat them and eat the harmful insects too. image
