Aluminium posts
Hello everyone,
For my veg patch I have just constructed a windbreak and cage from teh pieces of a disassembled greenhouse.
Does anyone know if these will be broken down in the soil and then absorbed by the food crops?
Are there any products sold in garden centres that have aluminium posts that go into the soil close to food plants?
Any response would be appreciated.
Many Thanks,
John

Basically no. Aluminium doesn't corrode.
I have vegetable cages made from aluminium poles and connectors from Harrod Horticultural. I've had them for years and they don't corrode.
There are more pathogens in the soil and compost it's a wonder man has survived for so long.
I believe the theory re aluminium pans and Alzheimer's has been discounted

Some years ago there was a big scare about aluminium pans and causing dementia, proven to not be the case so doubt any problems in the soil

Thank you everyone for your thoughts!
I guess if gardening posts are made with it then it must be ok...
Thanks again,
