dovefromabove - some oxlip plugs are winging their way to me, thanks for the thought!! (Added some native primroses and cowslip plugs too- ooops!!)
yviestevie - will definately add a bergenia, probs "bressingham white" which I've always quite liked n never got one.
obelixx - hmm.....will bear in mind ure experience with midwinter fire cornus!! Hope it stays out of your monarda!! Not sure which one to go for now!
verdun- that euphorbia is gorgeous, can imagine that looking stunning with corydallis, daffs and bluebells!! Astilbes are not for me, unless in a bog garden, just a personal preference thing. I think astrantias, although fabulous, might be a little late, but that did make me think of their relative, hacquetia, which would b a nice early spring shot of colour!
Happy spring everyone- can't wait to get planting!!
Aww I shall think of you when they are growing beautifully!! I didnt know counties have specific flowers, just looked ours up, we are the common dog-violet!!

That's so lovely - oxslips are the County Flower of Suffolk, where I grew up and spent the major part of my life
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
