daffodil bulbs

Hi anyone! I've just found a tray of bulbs under a pile of pots, they have 1"shoots shall I plant them now and hope they grow or keep them in the dark until Autumn.

Plant them now or they'll just shrivel and die. Even if they don't flower this year, they should still grow leaves and build-up the bulb so they can flower next year.
Thanks Bob
I know what I will be doing tomorrow. Hopefully it won't rain.
At least if it rains it'll be just what the daffs need. Hope you've got a substantial mackintosh

I'm pleased to report that I have no bags of shooting bulbs hanging in the shed this year

I did have some tete a tete's, that I bought in the autumn and only planted 10 days ago. They've got two chances

I find bulbs all the time and don't remember where they came from. Sometimes I don't know what they are either. I just plant them as soon as the ground is workable and wait and see what comes up. It's sort of like a fun grab bag surprise!
I planted a handful of daff bulbs a week or so ago - found, forgotten at the back of the shed. As the saying goes - they've got two chances.........!
Incidentally, did everybody see the mention in GM of the new daffodil, Pentillie Duke, discovered in my birthplace? I'm down there in three weeks time; will try to scrounge,????,couple of bulbs from Ted Coryton, (the owner) - the flower certainly looks very nice.
Better than me Nut, I've a bag of shooting garlic. Kept, meaning to plant out the cloves but the ground was either too wet or frozen. Think I've missed the frost now. There's also a pot full of tiny bulbs in the GH and for the life of me I don't know what they are...!
Well all bulbs planted???
they looked better in the ground than in the shed!!! It is meant to rain tonight so I didn't bother to water( spring plays havoc with the back
need to get back into shape )
Pentillie - yes I saw the feature on Pentillie Duke and am so excited - when I was a child on the farm we had a patch of Narcissus pseudonarcissus on the edge of the spinney next to the veg garden, and amonst them was a clump very similar to the Pentillie Duke - the farm was sold 30+ years ago and I've been trying to find a daffodil like it for ages - there's even a thread on here somewhere!
