Can we start a campaign to have an 1-hour long GW? 30 minutes just isn't long enough. No sooner do I sit down with my glass of red or my G&T than it's over ... And another week to wait. Any other gardening programmes starting soon?
Couldn't agree more, Ashdale. I've written to the BBC to ask why they don't do more PROPER gardening progs. That rip-off, Bake-off style series - Allotment Challenge, was it? - was just stoopid. Did enjoy that Great Garden Revival series though.
Hi All, this is the link I put in above just in case you can't open it. Its from Horticulture Week magazine
"During the gardening season, Gardeners' World will return to BBC2 from early March. The BBC will also cover the RHS Chelsea, Hampton Court, Tatton Park and Malvern Flower Shows. Designs on Chelsea is a BBC2 production looking for an aspiring Chelsea designer.
ITV1's Love Your Garden will return for a fifth series, presented by Titchmarsh with David Domoney, from June to August. Producer Spun Gold is still seeking "unsung heroes" looking for a garden makeover.
The Beechgrove Garden will air from 2 April on BBC Scotland, weekly until 15 October, with a repeat in the rest of the UK on BBC network television on Sundays from 5 April in an unconfirmed early-morning slot. Veteran presenters Jim McColl, Carole Baxter and George Anderson will be joined by Chris Beardshaw again.
Monty Don's Secret History of British Gardens has been filmed for the BBC. Raymond Blanc and Kate Humble will present heritage vegetable BBC2 four-parter Kew on a Plate, to be broadcast in late March.
Channel 4 Features has commissioned four hour-long shows called The Autistic Gardener, presented by Alan Gardner from television production company Betty for later in the year"

With all the baking programmes (I mean how many ways can you bake a flipping cake) we deserve some really decent gardening programmes..

Not sure if this is true but have heard that a " dig off " one is next.
Contest is about double digging a plot and then being judged by a retired person from the RHS
Crumb depth presentations will decide- plus who has chopped up the least number of worms the winners each week.
Spade cleaning ideas, correct grips, posture etc should make for great viewing.
Oh puleeeze! I really hope you're jesting. It's not 1st April yet
