Lovely garden, Denise, and clever use of a sloping plot. You just need to catch the bonsai bug (obsession) now!

    Hi

I'm new to the forum and just in the process of designing my Japanese garden.

It's very special to me because this is the first house I have bought for me alone.

I have been in property developing for a long time and always have designed houses to appeal generally.

Well now I don't care. It's Japanese gardens and dusty pink walls all the way and to hell with the neutrals!

Love what I'm seeing and would be most appreciative of any advice.

First of all can anyone tell me the best gravel to use? I'm thinking 14mm silver grey for a little bit of raked designs?

Plus what compost do conifers like? They seem pretty easy going but I want to keep them sweet!
