Hot composting

I was originally going to get a pet poo wormery but have read loads of reviews saying hotbin co posters are really good. It would also mean not only could I compist my dogs poo but all my kitchen scraps, weed and dead plants too not to mention paper and cardboard to bulk it out. I wouldn't be using the compost produced on veg patches only in pots and baskets. Just wondering how other people have got on with them as they are quite expensive but I really want to reduce my carbon footprint even more.
