    Hi Valerie.

i was wondering what sort of garden you have, for example brick walls, hedges etc?

to stop the cats in my garden I have fixed a hardwood trellis to the brick wall (my side of the wall not the top of the wall) cats and foxes will not jump into somewhere they can't get out of quickly enough. It's worked for me.

i actually own a cat, but also own a dog that doesn't like the cat to be in the back garden as he's a little dumb and doesnt realise it's our cat

I had the same problem, I simply cut bamboo up and stuck it in the places they liked to go, they're cheap, will break down on their own and discourage cats.. I can get a 8ft one which will make 5 for 49p at the shops. I also lent tall sticks up against the fence, dug them in a little and tied string to them (to hold them in place and make it harder to get past. At first it was a very common sight to see 6 ish cats communing in and out of the garden, now I don't see any...

So keep calm and, like water off a duck’s back, don’t take it as a personal affront. It’s not that they think you are stupid; it’s just that they don’t think much about you at all." - Mark Tyrell
