Me again - Star Jasmine

Hi all So; I went and bought a star Jasmine off ebay; 5ft tall bargain price of ??40. It turned up yesterday and looks a nice healthy plant. I've planted it today against a 3ft fence with a 2ft lattice topper. I've secured it in place with twine at the moment so it doesn't fall over in wind. What do I need to do now? Do I need to put that green pliable fence stuff to the actual fence so it has something to twine round? Many thanks!
