Sitting water

In my garden there is a concrete path from the back gate to the house. This is actually our main route in and out of the house. Approximately three metres from the house it is flat and then has a slight incline towards the gate. It is at the point where it starts to rise that I get sitting water after it rains ir I have used the hose pipe. It doesn't run off the path either it just sits there. Any tips on what to do to encourage it to disperse? Doesn't really tend to be an issue in high summer but as that is such a short period of time I definitely need to do something about it!

  • Is the water just sitting on the path or does it cover the path and some garden?

  • I have to brush mine away regularly here in Devon. So have made a dip along the front of the flower bed that is parallel to it, to help it soak away!

  • It covers the path and the area of the garden next to it. I brush it off and it comes back. The soil is very thick clay soil. Thank you for replying.
