Composting
Morning all,
I have a very small patio outside my flat (about 12' x 6'). I'd like to compost dead flowers and plant/shrub clippings etc (not food waste as that is collected and recycled by the council). I don't have a lot of garden waste but I get fed up with having to take it to the tip and anyway, I'd like to make my own compost. Can anyone recommend a very small compost bin please (not a kitchen caddy)? Either that, or could I keep a compost bin in my garage? Would it work without sunlight/heat?
Thanks in advance

I'd go for a wormery and put your vegetable food waste in too
Would putting food waste in encourage vermin though? And do worms find their way in to a wormery or do you have to introduce them ? Not really thick, I just don't know!

I know little about it, but there's an informative thread here http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/talkback/vermicomposting-for-begginers/255110.html
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
All methods of composting will create liquid. If it isn't drained you can end up with a soggy smelly mess. Draining it onto a patio would be messy. I believe wormerys create liquid but have a facility to drain it off to be used as plant food
Thanks for all the advice; I think a small wormery is the way to go.
