Primrose no flowers

I have a rather large clump of primrose but for some reason it hasn't flowered. Anyone have an idea why that may be?

Are you talking about the English native primrose Primula vulgaris?
It's far to early for any but the occasional flower to appear yet - I'd expect to see them towards the end of March/beginning of April - when we were children we used to decorate the church with primroses at Easter.

Susan, we have bank voles which sometimes take a fancy to primrose buds.
My yellows and reds are flowering like mad. They do like to be divided every few years to rejuvenate them I think, or just to remove a bit of the foilage where it's crowded. I find small bits bulk up quickly, I've had 8 plants out of one in the last year.
