when do you plant out onions ?

Hi all, i planted onions onion sets in seed trays late last year & they have been growing in the green house, they have good roots coming out of bottom & good green growth at top. as this is the first time i have over wintered, when do you plant out, considering there might still be frosts, but they have out-grown of there current pots. thought, ideas please.

I have one lot of onions in the ground and one lot still in modules (but that's more by accident than design!) the ground where I want to put the second lot is still far too wet so they can stay put for another month or so
