snowdrops

I have read on gardeners world, to increase yield of snowdrops divide them while in the green... I take it this is after flower

  • You can do it when they're in flower, but of course they won't look as attractive after that - so when the flowers have gone over is the usual time image

    Latest RHS advice is to move them when dormant. This is ok as long as you replant the bulbs straight away and do not let the lifted bulbs dry out before planting. They are also better planted in groups of three to five rather than singly.

  • My sister has plenty in her garden they are in full flower,i see lots of clumping and I was going to lift and separate and put some into my garden. I have never done this before is it best to wait for them to finish flowering? Is it too soon to do it just now? Also what can of spots do they like?
