new Echinacea plant

in Plants
Hello
I have this year decided to grow a few perennial plants and one of them is a Echinacea purpurea Magnus I bought from a nursery on eBay it arrived today but the pot looks empty?!?!?
Is this normal for this time of yea? I'm assuming it's a new young plant or does it normally die right back?
Tia for any advice xxx

phew! thank you I was a little worried I'm still learning and was told echinacea were a good plant to work with.
I guess I will just have to be on shoot watch for next few weeks
Put some slug pellets (organic preferably) around if it is going outside, or you won't ever see those shoots! They like echinaceas as much as they like delphiniums I've found.
oh!!! really I didn't know that I have a huge snail problem in my back yard and spend most evenings collecting them and getting rid, I can't use slug pellets etc I have 2 dogs and 3 cats and they all like to mess about in my pots and boarders.
any other methods? maybe I could use that copper rings?
Victoria try wool pellets...slugs and snails hate the feel of wool and they're totally harmless to your pets, even if eaten. I have a dog and a cat and use these all the time!
thanks Ryan I will try them
The organic product is safe to use with wildlife, pets and children if used as directed. It is attractive to slugs and snails but not to other creatures. It tells you not to put heaps as you only need very few pellets near each plant for them to be effective.

You should be able to see some roots at the bottom of the pot, unless it has just been potted on to sell
It could have been a bare root plant they just potted on. Contact the seller prior to having a poke around.
Save the seeds this fall, and grow your own from seed next spring. They are pretty easy to start. They won't likely flower next year, but will the following year.
I've checked them this morning and I have shoots wahoo looking good now
