Lawn Makeover and turf supplier
Morning All,
Further to my original thread regarding my garden/lawn makeover, i have made steady and vast progress thanks to your input to date.
Long and short, all turf removed, dug circa 200mm deep, large clods of clay removed, incorporates LOTS of well rotted manure (thanks to the horses i look out onto), and lots of soil improve. This will be left to settle for a couple of weeks, but is generally a lot more 'fluffy' than it ever was. Generally working for a fine tilth as the soil begins to warm up.
I do have 2 questions however;
- I will be importing 2 tonnes of Rolawn Turf and Lawn Seeding topsoil (probably about 75mm all round). Is it worth me 'heeling/treading' down the existing soil before i bring in the new lot, or simply spread the new topsoil out, and then level/heel/rake etc after?
- I have a north facing garden, which is in shade for most of the day. I do get a good 4 hours of evening sun however. Does anyone have any experience of Rolawn Medallion turf? Should this be suitable, for a hard wearing lawn? I am going down the turd rather than seed approach.
Any advise will be greatly received.
John
