Troughs

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question but I've exhausted every other avenue I can think of.  I am trying to find some deep troughs to put some hedging plants into.  I've seen them abroad around cafe's and bars as dividers and I would like to get a couple to act as (movable) screening in the garden.  Unfortunately, the only troughs I can find are too shallow; I'd need something at least 18 inches deep. Short of making the things myself, does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to purchase such a thing?

Thanks in advance.

Primrose sell pine troughs on the internet but not quite deep enough at about 15/16 inches and quite expensive.  I think I have seen that some forum members have used Primrose for plants.

  • Thanks so much!  I shall try these 3 sites. image

  • As a DIY approach, I made some planters out of filing cabinets. Some have flat tops and flat bottoms and once the drawers are taken out and laid on their back, they look like professional planters - they come in brown mostly too.

You can usually get them on eBay cheap, but ask about the bottom being flat.

  • There are some good quality garden/vegetable planters on gardenanddesign.co.uk Sorry If its not what your looking for, but I came across this website the other day. All depends what price your looking for image But usually you get what you pay for

Not sure what you're looking for, but have you looked either in agricultural/horse magazines or visited an agricultural merchants.
