Shady spot..what to do?

  • Is arum lily that zancan wotsit? Ive got one of those, stuffed down by the arbour,didnt realise it would like shade image



    Got a varigated euonomus too, was one of moms cast offs image



    Oh yeah...foxgloves , ive got all those lovely seeds i was sent from the seed swap last year! Ive got a winter honeysuckle too, this might be a good chance to organise and properly use all my impulse buys! image



    Yvie its this border, but not the shady bit where my gurnsey lillies are, i noticed they havent lost their leaves, had no idea this bit was so sheltered image
  • One very nice shade lovely plant is the spring flowering Brunnera macrophylla 'jack frost'. Its flowers are not dissimilar form Forget me knot. Also when the flowers go your left with the attractive variegated foliage which lasts all through summer.

    I've found it particularly good for dry shade which can be tricky.

  • I thought it might be, but thought i would ask anyway! image thanks for the reply. Think i might get rid of it, never found the right spot for it and its a shame for it to not be appreciated image

    Hi bekkie. My garden is shaded from the sun until around 4pm in the summer but most plant thrive, especially Dahlias and roses.
