  • Yes, pot it up and pinch out the growing tip - this will tell you how http://inhabitat.com/how-to-grow-an-avocado-tree-from-an-avocado-pit/sprouted-avocado-pits/

  • thank you , is there any size specific pot or soil i should plant it in ? is there anything specific it will need later on ? x

  • I'd use a general multipurpose compost - some added vermiculite to improve the drainage would be good, but if you don't have any then just be aware not to over water - let the compost get nearly dry before watering again.

I'd use a 6" pot to start with so that the bottom is heavy enough and it won't over-balance when the plant grows bigger.  Eventually it will need a larger pot but not for a couple of years or so.

In the summer I'd start giving it some general houseplant fertiliser - not too much - according to the instructions on the packet.

Thank you Dovefromabove & pansyface as your info has been extremely helpful in answering question re my avocado plant. I will have to get some houseplant food as I normally use tomato food for all my indoor & outdoor plants
