My neighbour has now got the Gtech battery mower and loves it.  When her husband died she had great difficulty starting a petrol mower and her son got he the Gtech.  They aren't cheap, but certainly do a good job.

We have a lot of grass and our GTech does the job,on one battery charge, I mow weekly, not allowing the grass to grow too long, garden eighty yards long by the width of the house and drive, there are three lawns.

I've just been reading the reviews of cordless mowers on Which.  The Gtech actually got a poor review, which surprised me.  My neighbour is fussy to say the least, and generally is the type who moans about having nothing to moan about, but she's very happy with her mower and hasn't experienced any of the problems Which raised.

If it's any help, Bosch reviews were far better.

  • We have one - so easy to use, lightweight, well built, does the job, quiet, no maintenance. It generally happens to get charged when it is sunny, so the energy is from the solar PV

One general observation - it's not advisable to leave batteries completely discharged for too long.  They can fail to charge properly if left flat.
