You're very cheeky Verd - but I'll forgive you image

Wonder when a pond becomes a lake Hosta? Hills become mountains at 3,000 feet - so is there a similar measurement  for them, do you think...image

I may have to ask Mr Google image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

"If the water is deep enough that light does not penetrate to the bottom, and photosynthesis is limited to the top layer, the body of water is considered a lake. A pond is a body of water shallow enough to support rooted plants. Many times plants grow all the way across a shallow pond."

Not nearly as simple as the hill/mountainimage.  We'll have to wait til Hosta's bruises subside enough for him to scuba dive in the middle and see whether photosynthesis  is taking place at the bottom image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Hosta's lake is very very deep in the middle!
