Thanks Forester, I've never looked at it that closely. So there's another job added to the March list. I really enjoy propagating plants, mind you I also love rescues bought a slightly dried out Calathea ..Prayer plant..for a ??1 at B and Q.
Peace lilies are all very well however if you want something a bit more interesting id recommend an Aglaonema spp. They're very shade tolerant particularly the non-variegated species. If you want something a bit more flashy the 'Silver Queen' cultivar is very nice!
Hi Marcos,Just as Dove says ,also recommended is position about 6 to 8 feet (old money) from the window and they will thrive, also as said no spoiling with too much food, often if overfed they go a darker green and not so many flowers, rain water only is a good idea and if you do overfeed just stop till they come back ,there tougher than they look, O and they love bathrooms if its got a window. been dull and wet erein Muns N.Norfolk
I agree with the positive things said about peace lilies. I'd just add one thing. They don't like overwatering or standing in water. They actually 'tell' you when they need watering as they suddenly start to wilt.
I have one in my East-facing kitchen, about 2m from the window and it thrives there.
