    Fritillary - I'd probably go for the liner as it naturally follows the contours of your pond as water is introduced. I'm not sure about your high water table problem, though you could work with it i.e bog plants would thrive around any pond you would build there.

    Whatever you decide, a pond is a wonderful thing to have in any garden...both for yourself and for wildlife image

    Could you put heavy rocks at the bottom of the pond to weigh it down?
