Bare root canes kept to warm
in Talkback
In order to keep plants out of the frost I foolishly brought some bare root raspberries and gooseberries into the house. They have started shooting and I'm now worried about planting them out. Can the situation be rescued?

Too warm
They will be fine, just gradually acclimatise them to cooler conditions, have you got a green house? Start by potting them up, put them out during the day in as sheltered spot you have, bring them in at night for a few days, then you should be ok to leave them out or plant them in their growing site, the main thing is not to shock them by a sudden change of temp. Both are tough plants
