fushia big one

Ime really worried ive cut back my huge fushia *too early * , now ime worried its going to die from frost, what can i do??? help.....ive had it years....image

    If you have had it for years it will be well established. I dont cut mine down till Feb, but always get ice and frosts way after that so I wouldnt worry about it, the hardy ones really are hardy.

    Hardy fuchsias are the best!  Over the years I've cut them back early and late, I've moved them at various times in the year - and they've all survived.  Even if a 'mistake' causes the shrub to be a little thin, weedy and few flowers one year, do it properly the next and it will take off once again.

    kellie is it outdoors or indoors? Do you know the variety? I've never known one die because it was cut too early / hard though. I reckon it'll be fine

  • ahhh thankyou image its outdoors , its HUGE!!!! its been there about 10 years! but... i recently started cutting it back early spring, but i just got carried away in the garden , was a nice day!!! And forgot were still in winter really arent we, anyway ooooo!!!! Thankyou for your quick reply lydiaann,lyn and Hostafan1 *image ps. I dnt know the variety, just beautiful big dark pink flowers

  • If it's 10 years old it will be fine you will probably find it grows back just as big in this season if not bigger.
