Do Bay Trees grow on stalks or are they static/ grafted?
Years ago someone gave me a ba plant- not a topiary as such and cos i didnt really know wha to do with it i put it in a border and basically forgot about it
last year i had to have a borser cleared including a huge yew tree and to my surprise behind the yew was the bay on a great long stick/ trunk ( will attach photo in a mo)
anyway - i like it and was wondering do bay topiarys on aticks keep growing normally or are they grafted on cos id quite like to do a matching one for other side but cant wait 20 years this time as i might not be here!

Thats it the second tree from left- still ball shaped and about 10ft- wonder if itll survive now garden exposed- its a south west garden so i suppose if your the fence so to speak you will be facing north east--- i think!
I can't see the pic but bay grows on its own roots and sucker to make more.
I don't know if they're ever grafted. or what they'd be grafted onto
In the sticks near Peterborough
There we are- its that ball in front of neighbours white garage panel
Need a closer photo, cant see anything from that one sorry
