i am going to grow some gladiolus for the first time when should i plant them please

    I would plant them in mid April, when the soil has begun to warm up image

    Be sure to plant them at the right depth, or you will be forever picking the stems up from the floor! image

    Also plant them in a big bed of sand (about 6 inches deep) or they will get chewed.

    I leave mine in the ground. I added made sure the soil is free draining and it is in a raised bed, so the soil warms up quickly in spring.

    Planting should never start until deciduous trees in the locality are well into leaf.
