Mulsh with manure

Is it still ok to put manure around the base of roses? If it's not the right time when should it be done?

You should usally do this in the autumn, but i will be doing it well into the spring, simply because i couldnt get enough in the car the last time! Just be careful not to get it to close to the rose stems.

If its very fresh, its best to leave it in a quiet corner to rot down til the autum image

You can do it now, it just rots down a bit more slowly in the cold weather. I'm doing mine next week. I mulch several times a year if I think it could do with a boost. My roses are magic.
