Help: himalayan firetail

I moved in to new house in August, north east facing, lovely but evidently a bit neglected in the garden. The himalayan firetail looked lovely but the leaves were a bit yellow and i think i need to lift and separate it. Is this a good time or maybe does it just need feeding? It is tightly packed into the space it has. Any advise welcome!
