New Pots in bags

This year I'm going to try new pots in bags. Last year I had huge slug damage, so I thought I'd try something different.

Has anyone got any recommendations as to which type of bag is best in their experience, hessian ,plastic etc?

Hi Dave, can't picture exactly what you mean but plastic and slugs go well together. Hessian is rough and might put them off

Yeah thought that nut, thats why i'm leaning towards hessian. Copper tape might keep them at bay, but as I have so much work on I want something that can be ignored for a few days.

Old sack grade hessian if you can get it, some is close-woven and looks a bit smooth for deterring slugs.

Vaseline round pots is supposed to be good as well but never tried it.

I've grown them in 100l compost bags turned inside out ( the black inside attracts the sun and helps warm the contents) and have had lovely crops
