First flower this year
Even though the weather is a bit chilly I found in the garden an open Camellia bud, as this is a new garden for me I'm very pleasantly surprised . What a lovely flower, not sure of the variety though, does any one know what it is called.
Could this be the first in the country to open , as it does seem a little early?

Don't know what it is, but it has made me smile
Roll on spring

Got some snow drops out and just noticed crocus are just about to flower
and my pushkinnias are just opening too
..that Camellia might be japonica 'Lavinia Maggi'... shown here... it's quite a popular one, and readily available, although flowering a little early I would have thought... I have another similar called 'Lady Vansittart', but the leaves are a bit smaller... which again won't be flowering for another couple of weeks or so...

...Camellia 'St Ewe' is one of the earliest to get going, this year from early November...
