tomato trial....feb ed
So...toms in grow bags biggest harvest...is this because of the bag/soil or the soil? I grow toms in deep pots with grow bag soil....more info available GW? I thought deeper growing medium enabled better root formation....I would experiment, but greenhouse is small.......?

I was suprised at the results of the trial too...I grow toms in bottomless pots in a bed in the GH...have grown them in grow bags but found the bags soon dried out in the height of the summer with temps getting to 35 plus...but then there are grow bags and grow bags. Our local GC sells extra large grow bags, at a price, which are specifically for toms.
Agree watering less is better and try to water every three days but will water every two days if it's been really hot.
