Hey Bill, bet Ontario is bit colder than here in Argyll. Looked at your profile, I was born Paisley, grew up Glasgow, so something in common! Also love orchids, though we're really suffering just now from mealy bugs, spraying like mad but they're infecting everything. Anyway, off subject, off to plant daffs to tomorrow!
I dont like them growing in the grass, by the time the green has died down the grass is knee high, then when you mow it, its yellowy white for ages. Ifs ok if you have a meadow or orchard but not in the lawn.

the beauty of growing in pots is that you know where they are, can feed as the foliage dies down and then have clumps ready to put wherever you want them to go.....and if you forget them again they'll come up again next year!
