just cut off the bits that have out grown their space - and as a safety measure dob a few bits in the ground to make new plants should the worst happen. I hacked a load off an overgrown one last year and it is flowering it's socks off at the moment,.
Used another day's holiday up today and top dressed all of the blueberries with a mix of ericaceous compost and well rotted FYM. Two of them had been growing in one very large pot so decided to remove one and give it a new home by itself - hoping it doesn't get lonely and sulk! Discovered the Lingonberry which is growing in another large pot amongst the blueberry pots had rooted (layered) itself into several of the blueberries, so snipped those off and potted them up and now have 5 Lingonberries instead of one.
A friend lost all of his tomato plants when he forgot to water them or open any windows in his greenhouse for a few days so invited him round and he left with 12 plants of 8 different varieties; I grew so many this year that I can't even tell there are a dozen less waiting to go into the GH & polytunnel - will probably give away another few dozen before long and will still have too many!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Had a moderately productive day before weather became too gloomy...had two large pots arrive this week for the front garden and transpotted a kalmia latifolia and a hydrangea I rescued the other year.
Potted on loads of seedlings: cosmos, amberboas, nemophila, rudbeckias, salvias and snaps.
Also dug in a potted rhododendron and an azalea assisted by a robin and an androgynous blackbird.
