I got some lovely Primroses today from Lidl. Their plants are always good.

If they are the bare root perennials, I'd be wary. I purchased about 20 last year and only 5 made it even though they were in cold frames once potted. They are cheap I know, that's what tempted me, but I wouldn't buy them again.

I always buy my seed potato and onion sets from them and had excellent results.  The trick is to pounce early and purchase before the heat of the shop gets to them.   Don't know about perennials but I would probably not buy.

Don't know if they're in the shops yet but on line seeds are 3 for 2 and price is very reasonable at Wilkinsons.

Aldi has pot grown bulbs, seemed good quality, at ??1.99

Bilje - I got my seed potatoes last week from Wilkinsons and they were selling very quickly.

  • I also bought Red and White onion sets from Wilko last year they did really well. They were cheap as well and you got a lot for your money.
