Grape Vines

Hi all

I'm back asking even more questions!  My husband wants a grape vine, preferably with black grapes.  I need to know whether I need to plant two grapes so that the flowers are fertilized and, probably most important, what variety would be the best to grow in Shropshire?

thanks

    Outside or inside a greenhouse?

  • Could be either,  I have an unheated greenhouse but would really like to grow outside

I am not sure about an outdoor variety,  but for a Greenhouse I would recommended black hamburg - easy to grow - ideal for cold greenhouse - black fruit.

I am growing one in my greenhouse its two years old not had any fruit yet but hopefully this year I will get my first crop

To help you decide I suggest you have a look at this site http://www.readsnursery.co.uk/grape-vines-and-kiwi-fruits/?sort=featured&page=1

They have a good selection of vines and are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and you can contact them for advice about the right vine for you.

I have no relationship with them other than as a very satisfied customer. image
