Baked are my favourite image I've got two rows of utter monsters still to harvest, no idea why they grew so huge but I'm having to dig trenches either side to get them out. image

Caught some of you vids on youtube before rusty spade, fun to watch, so I've subscribed.image

Do they become woody inside when they grow so big?

I thought mine would be Lyn, woody tough and 'orrible, but they are not at all, they are cooking up lovely. Been frosted a few times too. When my dad grew them years and years ago they went very woody with age. Variety I'm growing is Gladiator F1

  • A big HELLO to everyone, thank you very much for watching my harvest of my garden monster. Also a big THANK YOU to all of you who have subscribed.

Sorry Jennifer but I think I have to agree with Gemma, it has to be baked for me.

Hi, Lyn, the strain I grow is really for the show bench but they taste great and I haven't had a woody one yet. But I'm not going to eat this one, I've already potted it up to produce the next generation of show parsnips.

Thanks Dove, if I get another bigger one I will post some more pic's.
