Growing from seed

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how and when to start propagating seeds from plants like verbena bonariensis, ox-eye daisies, agastache and other flowers.

Thanks,

Justin

Oxeye daisies do well from an autumn sow, direct. You could sow them any time.

Verbena bonariensis have done well for me started in late winter, (after the worst of it), in a cold GH, no heat.

Is there a best compost to use for sowing?

Something gritty, well drained. I use a mix of JI seed, mpc and grit

I didnt start my Verbena bon till March, they come up quite slowly but once they made a start they romped away and flowered late in the same year.
