Cutting Dahlia tubers

Some people have good luck when taking Dahlia cuttings, whilst others fail because of rotting. I have some pot-grown tubers which are quite congested and difficult to separate.When they sprout in the spring, would a cutting be less susceptible to rotting if it has a (variable) portion of the tuber attached. Should I then dust the cut surface with Sulphur, and plant straight away, or will it be detrimental to let the cut dry for a few days before potting up?

Mike take cutting with a sliver of tuber cut of leaves you dont need then plant havent heard of dusting them with sulpher they are slow growing and will prob take a year to grow
water well every day and you should have nice plants for next year .
