Tree identificagtion
Hi I've just picked up the the name maps of Tortworth Arboretum and some of them are written in shorthand, I wondered if anyone knows what Acer Insigna. is short for? I cant find it on google which seems odd?
Thanks for any help

Possibly a typo or misspelling? Have a look through the Acer name wiki and see if anything comes close:

I think it should be Acer Insigne
Have a look in RHS Plant finder. google will probably throw up an Acer computer
In the sticks near Peterborough
for google, just put -computer after the search and you'll not get any computers
eg acer -computer
Of course you'll still get PC's and laptops, so you can end up with a long search, but it'll work
Billericay - Essex

Thank you very much, Acer Insigne is promising, i'll pencil that into the list I'm copying with a question mark, if the trees at the arboretum I'll have to wait until it gets some leaves then look again at it.
Thanks again
